Bianca Salvo (*1986) is an Italian artist living and working in Bogotá. She was awarded with an MA in Photography in 2012 from the London College of Communication and previous to that, in 2010 she gained a BA in Visual Art & Photography from the Istituto Europeo di Design in Milan. She has been lecturer in Creative Research in Photography at the Istituto Europeo di Design in Milan and now she is currently lecturer in photography at the Universidad de Los Andes in Bogotá.
Oscillating between the factual and the fictional, her work mainly explores the connections among beliefs and the image. Her artistic practice is based on the combined use of  staged photography with archival footage, written documents, books, found objects, installation and videos and points to question the role of western gaze in the production of evidences and proofs of idealistic scenarios of civilization.
